The birds are singing, the flowers are blossoming and the sun is warming up and it is that time of the year again where we bring out the cool beverages and have a ‘lekker’ braai next to the swimming pool.  But many of us may have neglected our bodies just a little bit during the cold winter months and could do with that little bit of extra work now.  Though we all know that having the time is often a major obstacle . . . So why not this summer incorporate some physical activity in the swimming pool when having the next braai.


The water is an awesome medium for physical activity, especially in summer where you can cool down at the same time and not necessarily have to break out a sweat.  You can do both your cardiovascular training and strength training by making use of the water’s buoyancy and resistance.
