Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by throbbing, pulling, creeping, or other unpleasant sensations in the legs and an uncontrollable, and sometimes overwhelming, urge to move them. Symptoms are often worse at night and when resting the limbs. Wakefulness results and sleeping is difficult as the desire to move the legs is constant and it can distress the afflicted individual.
